Booklet #2

I got a new shuincho from Zojoji temple in Shinagawa, Tokyo. Apart from stanning black and red patterns, it features the crest of the Tokugawa clan.

Time for a new, wooden shuincho with one of the iconic views of Mt. Fuji (36 views of Mt. Fuji from the famous ukiyo-e painter Hokusai) from Usitenjin Kitano shrine (牛天神北野神社). Front and back side of the booklet show the two halves of the view from Koishikawa tea house on a snowy morning (礫川 雪の旦).

There was an interesting case of syncretism, where a Buddhist temple put a cute Santa Claus on its stamp.
