Λογικά θα απορούν όλοι οι υπόλοιποι λαοί, όπως ο πατέρας μου που του είπα ότι χτες ήταν Σέτσουμπουν (節分, τέλος χειμώνα) και σήμερα Ρισσούν (立春, αρχή άνοιξης). Στην Ασία η άνοιξη αρχίζει τώρα, με βάση το σεληνιακό ημερολόγιο, όχι με την ισημερία. Για αυτό και οι εορτασμοί μετά την κινέζικη πρωτοχρονιά αναφέρονται ως “Φεστιβάλ της άνοιξης”.
[EN] I noticed that the Winter Olympics in Beijing were referring to February 4th as the beginning of the spring. Probably, a lot of countries are surprised by this, as much as my father when I told him that yesterday was Setsubun (節分, end of winter) and today is Risshun (立春, beginning of spring). In many Asian cultures, spring starts now according to the lunar calendar and not on the spring equinox. That’s why the celebrations for the chinese new year are usually called ‘Spring festival’.
