[GR] Κάπου στις αρχές των ’90ς και ενώ η Ιαπωνία άρχιζε σταδιακά να ανοίγεται στον έξω κόσμο, αποφάσισαν να φέρουν το έξω μέσα, χτίζοντας μικρογραφίες πόλεων του εξωτερικού. Στο Καβασάκι λοιπόν βρίσκεται η Cittadella, ένα εμπορικό κέντρο χτισμένο ως μικρογραφία «ενός χωριού σε λόφο της Ιταλίας». Άνοιξε τις πόρτες του το 2002, υπό την επίβλεψη του Αμερικανού Jon Jerde. Έχει βαμμένους κίτρινους τοίχος, ένα (1) στριφογυριστό σοκάκι, μαρμαρινο-τσιμεντένιο συντριβάνι (πιο πολύ μοιάζει για Fontana di Takeda αντί για Fontana di Trevi) και κάτι που μοιάζει με καμπαναριό. Εννοείται ότι το σινεμά το λένε Cinecitta. Τα εστιατόρια σερβίρουν πίτσα και μακαρονάδες, ενώ είναι από τα λίγα σημεία της πόλης που θα βρεις τραπέζια έξω στον ήλιο. [EN] Sometime in the early 90s and after the financial bubble collapse, Japan started opening up to the globalized world. Simultaneously, someone thought it would be a good idea to import the spirit of overseas as well, by building miniature copies of global cities. In the exotic backstreets of Kawasaki, one can find “La Cittadella”, a shopping centre that is built as a miniature of “a town on a hill in Italy” with the concept of “Romance”. It opened its doors in 2002 under the supervision of the American developer Jon Jerde. The walls are painted in a warm ochre colour and the shops are aligned on a single twirly alley. Notable features include a fountain that looks like a slacker copy of Fontana di Trevi and something resembling a bell tower. Of course, the local cinema is called Cinecitta. Restaurants serve -what else- pizza and pasta. Cittadella is an oasis in the big city that provides outdoor dining. While it differs vastly from real Italy, La Citadella sure stands out compared to the traditional japanese-style shopping street next door (Nakamise shotengai). Don’t tell me you can’t see the difference!
