[English text]
A new breakthrough is paving its way currently in Japan. At present, an unmanned AI cashier register for conbini (short for convenience store) is being tested at the JR Oomiya station in Saitama. A (fanfic?) manga is already out to describe the experience by twitter user @hal_akito. No need to dress up decently when going to grab a ‘calorie mate’ for your midnight cold winter cravings. Everyone admits that the shortage of employees in Japan is overwhelming, but to me it looks an extra step to reduce [even such a crude version of] human communication in everyday life, in a country where courtesy is valued more than close relationships. What are your thoughts?
